Environmental Monitoring System.

Environmental monitoring and exploration of the sea as carried out similarly by science and industry demand for an automatic measurement and supervision of various crucial water parameters. With the CONTROS OceanPack+ measuring system a potent and cost efficient platform consisting of several high-end CONTROS products is presented. It comprises the proved HydroC™ sensor family, measuring either CO2 or CH4, with the CONTROS SmartDI™ (Smart Data Interface) Datalogger as a data management unit, which is equipped additionally with various connection types enabling the integration of many other probes or analysing systems.

The simple modular design of the OceanPack+ and its automatic employment makes it a very economical and universal choice. The integrated "self calibration" function as well as an automatic cleaning routine enables the unsupervised enterprise. Nonetheless OceanPack+ features a very user friendly handling. The durable execution of this monitoring system is appropriate for ship enterprise and the demanding offshore employment under naturally rough environmental conditions. With its small power requirements also battery operation e.g. on buoys or at remote measuring points is possible. Using the RS-485 industrial bus allows for the control of i.e. external pumps or valves.

At the same time it enables the integration of external measuring equipment such as meteorological instrumentation. Data communication is achieved by RS-232 / RS-485 cable, radio links, GSM, IRIDIUM satellite, WLAN, Ethernet or other standards adapted to a certain system. Since the OceanPack+ works with redundant data bases and configurations, it is insensitive to system break-downs. Data storage is achieved by the common CompactFlash standard (CF Card 2 GB).
