Limnology

There is growing interest and concern regarding greenhouse gas emissions, mainly carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4), from lakes and reservoirs. Organic-rich sediments in lakes and reservoirs are thought to be ‘hot spots’ of methanogenesis in particular, from which CH4 can escape to the atmosphere (Delsontro et al., 2010).

CONTROS’ HydroC™ unique rage of underwater CH4 and CO2 sensors solves the global problems of the in-situ and online measurements of CH4 and CO2, profiling or long-term deployed on buoys and moorings in lakes and reservoirs. Applications include climate change studies, methane and carbon dioxide monitoring, monitoring of dissolved oxygen content of reservoir releases, etc.
